Lecco

The Municipal Museum: it is in Belgioioso Palace which dates back to the XVIII Century. It consists of a picture- gallery, an archaeological collection, relics concerning the geologist and writer Antonio Stoppani, born in Lecco, and a Museum of Natural History. 

St. Nicolò’s Church: it is a Neo-classic rehandling of a previous building, with a polygonal bell-tower built on the ruins of one of the castle towers.

The Castle Tower: recently restored, it is all that remains of the Castle. Here there is the Municipal Historical Museum, with a collection of documents from the XVII Century to nowadays. 

Manzoni Villa: it belongs to the end of the XVIII Century and it was built according to Zanoia’s plan. Manzoni stayed a long time in this villa and this is where the documentary material concerning the period when “I Promessi Sposi” (The Betrothed) was set.
