Como

Como is one of the Lombard provinces with a varied territory: Pre-Alpine on the northern side, with mountains and valleys in the south-west, on the western side there is the lake and in the south the landscape is hilly. It has a strategic position, as it links up Lombardy with Central Europe. It peserves Medieval and Renaissance testimonies. This City was founded by the Romans and in the ancient lay-out of roads the Medieval City has extended. The square is typically Lombard, with a church and a “broletto” (Town Hall).
