Natural Reserve of Adamello

A visit to Ponte di Legno also offers the chance to go further so as not to miss out on a tour of the Regional Natural Reserve of Adamello. A territory protected as a natural heritage, the Park also serves the equally important role of creating a valid aid in developing the mountain and its artisan, agricultural and tourist activities. Covering 48,100 hectares, the reserve sits in the centre of the alpine range of the Rhaetian Alps with a territory contained entirely within the province of Brescia. Imposing peaks and summits dominate the numerous valleys dotted all over the park. From a height of 390 metres above sea level we rise up to an altitude of 3539 metres, in a succession of climatic variations and a kaleidoscope of colours, from the lush meadows and green broadleaf and conifer forests to the perennial snows of the glaciers. Deer, marmots, and ermines live here, while trout and char abound in the streams and mountain lakes, and blackbirds, buzzards and other species inhabit the thick forests.
