The castle of Brescia is one of the biggest and most important fortified buildings in Italy. Big underground halls still remain of the original Roman settlement. The fortifications of the Middle Ages and of the Renaissance, which are surrounded by a strong wall strengthened by bastions, were built around it. Everything is excellently preserved. You can visit the museum of Ancient Weapons “Luigi Marzoli” in the Visconti Tower and the Risorgimento Museum in the storehouses of “Grande and Piccolo Miglio”.
